Watch out for Wild Turkeys on campus

Apparently, there is nothing unusual about seeing a wild turkey on campus. They walk the streets at night and often hang out during the day at Harvard Square. I asked a police officer nearby if it was normal to see turkeys at the Square and he told me that if I thought that was weird I probably hadn’t heard that Professors at Harvard are actually allowed to keep farm animals there if they so desire due to old campus tradition. (I didn’t find anything about this when Googling, but would be great if readers could help me clarify this).

Whether the turkey is part of legal loophole for an eccentric professor or he just happens to like it, both sound unexpected but interesting.
